This chapter describes how to migrate your views from Centreon Map 3 to Centreon Map 4.

You need administrator credentials to your Centreon Map 3 and Centreon Map 4

Warning

Your Map 4 server needs to be up and running before performing the migration. If it’s not the case, please refer to the Installation part

Note

Note that after the migration, your Map 3 server will still be available. Its configuration and its elements are not removed. So after the migration, you will have fully fonctionnal Map 3 and Map 4.

What will be migrated

  • Views

  • Elements

  • All kind of links

  • Shapes

What will not be migrated

  • Workspace configuration

  • ACLs.

The new ACL system in Map 4 is based on ACL groups, whearas on Map 3 it was based on users. After the migration, only Centreon’s administrator and Map 4 administrator will be able to see the views.

Start the migration

Launch your Map 4 desktop client and connect to your Map 4 server. On the View part, do a right click and then select “Import Map 3”.

A new window will appear, showing all your Map 3 views. Select the one you want to import and click “Finish”.
